About the role

Hospital stays can be quite a stressful and worrying time for our patients and their loved ones. A simple smile and high-quality service can put our patients at ease and make all the difference!

At Sodexo our Ward Hosts are vital to making sure that we provide a great all-round service for our patients - they are the ones who engage with our patients the most, so its important that you make them feel welcome and relaxed.

You will assist in the preparation of patient food, communicating with the kitchen to ensure that all food orders are made and that any dietary requirements are provided for.

You will follow a strict cleaning schedule ensuring that the pantry is kept clean and tidy.

Please note, due to the nature of this role you must be aged 18 and over.

  • Access to public transport Main Responsibilities
  • To assist in the preparation of patient food in a hygienic manner following all instructions given.
  • To engage with the patients to feel welcome and relaxed with their time in our care.
  • Communicate with the kitchen to ensure that all food orders are made and are what are required by the patient/visitor.
  • Keep the pantry clean and tidy at all times to stay in the condition laid out in service level agreement and to meet all legal and company responsibilities.
  • Assist the manger and supervisor to achieve service level agreements, health and safety requirements.
  • Complete all audit and quality standards documentation as required.
  • Ensure that patient's dietary requirements are provided for.
