As our Events Business kicks off again and we look to a busy year ahead, we are looking to strengthen our Kitchen Brigade and are looking for a Head Chef at the top of their game, to join our highly successful team at The Grand Hotel, Brighton.

Our Events business is renowned. An onsite team with decades of experience running large scale events for global clients, and a reputation for delivering the best banqueting food locally, makes The Grand Brighton the place to surprise, delight and entertain. This position will certainly be a key contributor to the continued success of our Events delivery! 

You will report directly to the Executive Head Chef, with a primary responsibility of ensuring that the Events brigade are delivering a fantastic standard at all times, focused on the highest quality and appearance of each finished plate before serving to the customer whether that be for a high-profile banquet expertly executed for 500, the perfect meal to accompany a special Wedding Day or a light lunch for hundreds (up to 800) of conference attendees. 

As a Sous or Head Chef already for at least 3 years, you’ll have extensive experience in a high volume but “a la carte” standard food production and have strong leadership skills. You’ll love to teach and develop chefs and be able to communicate well at all levels. It gets busy so you’ll need to be extremely organised but calm under pressure whilst maintaining exceptional standards. This is a hands-on role – you’ll be a role model for the team you work within!
